Board of Trustees

DIL Trust UK’s Board of Trustees ensure that the charity is carrying out it’s purpose by developing strategic goals and programme initiatives; reviewing and approving annual plans and budgets; assisting in expanding outreach, visibility and donor support; and monitoring the progress of the organisation.

As Chairperson, Lala provides strategic leadership and long-term vision to advance DIL Trust UK’s mission. She works closely with fellow Trustees to ensure the charity operates with integrity, impact, and sustainability, while remaining firmly aligned with it’s core values.

Lala brings a broad and distinguished professional background to her role, with nine years of experience in investment banking at JPMorgan, and having founded and served as CEO of a successful fashion brand. Lala currently sits on the Global Leadership Council of the University of Rochester and is Vice Chair of the KGS alumni organisation in the UK.

A committed philanthropist for over two decades, Lala has been actively involved in supporting a wide range of organisations across education, healthcare and social development. She is passionate about building sustainable institutions and believes in creating meaningful change through leadership and collaboration.

Ebrahim has been a Trustee of DIL Trust UK since 2010 and has a passion for promoting education and women’s empowerment. Ahmereen Reza OBE is a senior leader with high-level convening power across government, influencing public policy on growth, social mobility, and gender equity. She is Co-Founder and former Chair of DIL Trust UK, improving literacy outcomes in underserved communities in Pakistan and among underperforming students in England. She is a trustee of an interfaith women’s network focused on community
integration.

Awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Ahmereen is Director at Highforest, leading a Land Finance platform delivering infrastructure and renewable energy.

Her leadership roles include Non-Executive Director-Southern Housing Group, Director- British Pakistan Foundation, Vice President- Conservative National  Convention, and Country Director-Aman Foundation UK , delivering healthcare and youth skills to marginalised communities.

Ayesha is a social entrepreneur, sustainable fashion expert, and a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, with a long-standing commitment to using fashion as a tool for social development.

Alongside her professional work, Ayesha has collaborated with a range of NGOs and social development organisations, including Grameen Bank, supporting initiatives focused on literacy, women’s empowerment, and community development.

Her work in fashion has been featured in leading publications such as Vogue, BBC, The Guardian, Grazia, Elle Arabia, TrendHunter, and FT How To Spend It. In recognition of her impact, Ayesha was named among the BBC’s 100 Women in 2014.

Tasnim Ghiawadwala

Tasnim has been leading Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) since 2021. During her more than 20-year career at Citi, Tasnim held various roles in Investment Banking, Corporate and Commercial Banking, as well as Senior Regional Management. nulla facilisis dignissim.

Tasnim is passionate about equality in the workplace, especially for women and has led several diversity initiatives and chaired various Committees across her career in banking.

In 2024 and 2025, Tasnim was recognised in the American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking list. Additionally, from 2023-2025, Tasnim was included in Financial News’ 100 Women in Finance list, recognising leading women across European financial services. She was also named on Financial News’ inaugural South Asian Power Brokers list in 2025.

Mohsin Naqvi has been associated with DIL UK for several years and joined as a Trustee in 2023. He is passionate about giving back, with a particular interest in education and empowerment. Mohsin is an investment banker by profession and is currently based in the Middle East.

Romana is an educator by training and conviction. She co-founded The Study Centre, creating the first specialised after-school programme of its kind. Guided by the principle that learning must be enjoyable, Romana ensures this philosophy shapes every aspect of the programme—from its vision to the dedication of its
teachers.

With over 25 years of global experience in education, Romana has served in diverse roles across five countries. Her journey includes teaching at Bay View Academy in Karachi, serving on boards of international schools in Manila and Amsterdam, and working as a CELTA-certified instructor in Dubai. Her expertise is reinforced by extensive teacher training and a commitment to recognising each child’s individuality, creating personalised learning experiences that unlock their full potential.

Rubina Khaliq Riaz

Sana Ansari

Sana brings over 10 years of professional experience in finance, including work at Citibank in New York. She joined DIL Trust UK in 2022 and quickly became an active contributor to its mission. In 2023, Sana served on the Gala Core Committee, leading the marketing and public relations efforts. She recently co-chaired the 2025 Gala and, as of January 2026, has joined the Board of Trustees. With a deep passion for philanthropy and a strong commitment to empowering women through education, Sana is honoured to be part of DIL Trust UK and to support its impactful work.

Sana brings over 10 years of professional experience in finance, including work at Citibank in New York. She joined DIL Trust UK in 2022 and quickly became an active contributor to its mission. She holds a BA (Hons) in International Business, Finance and Economics from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Organisational  Behaviour and Management from the London School of Economics.
