My Silent Words
I, Javeria Iqbal, was born into a world of silence – both my parents are deaf and mute. Yet, they have always communicated through the language of love and determination.
My father, a labourer, works tirelessly under the scorching sun; his hands calloused but his spirit unbroken. With inflation tightening its grip, his relentless efforts are not enough to shield us from the weight of financial struggles.
In the quiet corners of our home, I found my calling: creating candies and chocolates in our tiny kitchen. Some months I earn Rs. 20,000. But this is more than just a business to me; it brings dignity to my family and fuels my dream of becoming a food engineer. DIL has been my guiding light in this journey – bridging the gap between aspiration and possibility. With every lesson learned and every hurdle crossed, I inch closer to my goal of becoming an engineer.
