Child Centred Curriculum

Our synthesis of technologically driven learning, Child centered learning, and project based activities has improved student engagement, helping them stay curious and explore the farthest limits of their imagination.

All subject curricula are developed in close consultation with DIL’s teachers. Materials are field-tested, and teacher input is sought throughout the implementation process to inform future iterations.

DIL’s curriculum package arranges subjects to wed content (what to teach) with pedagogy (how to teach), allowing teachers to devote more time to engaging with students than planning lessons.

Subjects are taught using low-cost, contextualised support materials so that our students learn in an authentic, meaningful way.

Peer Review in classrooms supports group learning and keeps students accountable for their own and each other’s learning.

Our content consists of a compilation of teachers’ guides replete with daily lesson plans, scripted instruction, activity kits, storybooks, audio CDs, workbooks, and reference materials. We currently have curriculum packages available for the primary grades in every core subject area.

The Gateway Programme

Once students reach the 7th grade, DIL Trust UK initiates them into the Gateway Programme, which is designed to help students develop their unique strengths and build a roadmap to their dreams and goals, preparing them for the world beyond their villages.

The Gateway Programme includes sessions on Life Developing Skills, helping students build a strong sense of self through emotional regulation and problem-solving. Tools which will help them become resilient and empathetic leaders of the future.

Our Initiative fuels the ambitions of our students with internships and professional mentorships that help with interview preparation, CV building, and offer a glimpse into the work opportunities available to students once they graduate.

Beyond professional support, DIL Trust UK works to understand the individual challenges of our students, working to build solutions for financial obligations and social responsibilities that prevent students from pursuing their goals, whether it be work or further education.

One of the remarkable outcomes of educating students today is that many graduates return to train as teachers who foster the intellectual growth of the next generation, influencing the communities of tomorrow.

The Gateway Programme includes the Community Action Projects, Role-Playing different professions,  the Alumni-Led Summer Camp and much more.
